Hydrofera Blue - PVA dressing with pigments
Application:
- intended for use on wounds in any healing phase, including necrotic wounds;
- for wounds with slight to very large amounts of exudate;
- recommended for use on infected wounds;
- dressing chronic wounds: bedsores, ulcers of various etiology;
- treatment of other wounds: postoperative, traumatic, superficial and deep skin injuries, resulting wounds;
- as a result of radiation reaction of the skin, areas of collection and application of skin grafts, burns of 1-2 degree, chemical burns, areas of the emerged stoma.
Properties:
- dressing in the form of a PVA sponge, the main component of which is vinyl alcohol obtained from polyvinyl acetate;
- contains two organic pigments: methylene blue and gentian violet, which enable the biocidal effect;
fights infections caused by the following bacteria: MRSA and VRE, Staphyloccocus epidermidis, Staphyloccocus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Serratia marcescens, Yersiniaenterocolitica, E. Coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterococcus faecalis, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus mirabacteracae, Proteus mirabacteracae;
- combats infections caused by fungi: Candida albicans, Cadida krusei, Cadida glabratta;
- eliminates unpleasant smell from the wound by limiting the growth and preventing the multiplication of bacteria;
- prevents the growth of microorganisms and binds endotoxins just 4 hours after application;
- built of three-dimensional, open and interconnected cells;
- the structure of open cells allows for high efficiency of exudate filtration and to maintain a balance between the retained and the moisture released from the dressing;
- maintaining a moist environment in the wound stimulates the self-cleaning process, facilitates the autolysis of dead tissues, the growth of granulation tissue, shortens the healing time;
- in contact with the exudate, a mild negative pressure is created, thanks to which the contents of the wound are more effectively absorbed;
- along with subsequent changes in the dressing, the wound is cleared of necrotic tissue, the swelling around the wound is reduced and its surface area is reduced, and thus the patient's pain is reduced;
- the sponge is hydrophilic, dust-free, free of loose fibers, gentle and atraumatic for the patient;
soft and flexible after soaking - adapts to the shape of the body, provides freedom of movement;
highly absorbent. Can absorb exudate 25 times the weight of the dressing. When sterilized before use, the thickness is about 10 times less than when in contact with wound exudate;
does not macerate the skin around the wound;
- does not stain the skin, external dressings, underwear;
- requires soaking with physiological saline or water for injections before application to the wound;
requires protection with an appropriate secondary dressing;
- it is possible to change the dressing painlessly - it does not stick to the wound, no secondary tissue damage occurs during its removal;
- the dressing can be used with compression therapy and negative pressure wound therapy;
- can be properly shaped and trimmed in an aseptic manner;
- can stay on for up to 3 days;
- non-sticky;
- hypoallergenic;
- barren.
